American Women in Radio and Television’s Boston Chapter President Will Receive Legacy Award at

Boston Women Communicators 13th Anniversary Celebration

at the Lenox Hotel

Thursday September 27th
from 6:00 to 9:00pm

JOIN US CELEBRATE!

On September 27, BWC will present their 13th annual Legacy Award to longtime Boston radio favorite Candy O'Terry of WMJX, Magic 106.7. In addition to her on-air role in Afternoon Drive, Candy is the Assistant Program Director of the station, one of a handful of women in this position in the nation. Candy is also the creator and co-host of "Exceptional Women" a show that has won 25 local and national awards for excellence in women's programming, including 11 Gracie Allen Awards from the American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT.)

Candy, who lost her mother to breast cancer when she was 18, is the spokesperson for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, with Magic 106.7's annual “Exceptional Women Awards” raising over $150K for the cause. She has received the Gilda Radner Award and is spokesperson for the Pink Rose Foundation.
Jane B. Wilson, cofounder of Boston Women Communicators, says her goal in helping to launch the BWC in 1994 was to provide a forum for women to develop relationships that would help them in business and beyond. Guests and members are encouraged to reach out to each other, share information, and, hopefully, build connections that continue after an event has ended. Wilson believes the way individuals approach networking events should be no different from interactions at other gatherings. Instead of working a room, she said, ''Try to support the spirit of connection.''
